Day 1:
My lovely friend Liz met me at my house on Thursday, April 23rd and we started our trip to Keukenhof Gardens to see the famous tulips in bloom. On our last trip, my GPS kept taking us down little roads and tended to take us in areas that weren't really what we were looking for, so after a 2 hour update, I just knew it would be all fixed and would work well! ;) That is, if the operator wasn't such a ding-a-ling!
I plugged in the address for our hotel and city but didn't double check which one I clicked on and after a very easy, beautiful, and quick 7 hour drive, we realized we went WAY past our mark and drove an entire 2.5 hours further than we needed to!

Zuidhorn was not where we meant to go but I'm glad we got there anyway. It was one of the cutest little towns I've ever seen and it is a place I would go to again just to spend time there. The food was expensive but absolutely worth every dime!
After a very nice lunch, we set about again to our hotel. After about 2 1/2 hours, we finally reached the hotel. We passed it about twice since it was actually a Chinese Restaurant and only secondly a hotel. That would have been a good FYI to have known...

We parked, argued with the guy at the front desk in order to even keep my Killian with us and then went to bed.
04/24/15
Day 2:
After a very frustrating but leisurely breakfast (the breakfast was absolutely pitiful), we started off for Keukenhof Gardens. Holland is known for their amazing tulips and I have been hoping I would get a chance to see them for myself. I was pretty lucky when Liz said she would go with me!

The smell was amazing. It really was great. If Yankee Candle could put that in a jar, I would buy stock in that! After our wonderful day of flowers and great weather, we decided to eat at the Chinese Restaurant that was attached to our hotel. It was terribly confusing and it was set up like a crazy buffet in three different rooms. If the food would have been good at least, it would have been worth it...ah well! The food at Keukenhof was super delicious so no worries!

Day 3:
Our third day we headed back to Germany. If was a super fast but really fun holiday! The drive was MUCH quicker on the way back. Without my ridiculous 2.5 hour detour, it only took us about 7 hours to get home!
