Day Trip to Regensburg

7/3/14

Today my sister-in-law, Colleen, my son, Keenan, and I went to Regensburg for a day trip since it was only an hour away.  We decided to stop by Walhalla Temple first.  Walhalla is a copy of the Parthenon in Athens.  It's beautiful and impressive.  It was inaugurated in 1842 by King Ludwig I of Bavaria.  It is used as a "Hall of Fame" for famous German people like Einstein, Beethoven, and Bach to name a few.

After Walhalla, we tried to find Oskar Schindler's house but the GPS couldn't find the street or the cross street so on we went to grab some lunch and then the History Museum in Regensburg.  It was fine but we were a little disappointed that they only had one display with English and the English audio guide only had 12 pieces of information on them so they weren't terribly helpful.  It was good to have gone though.

Over all it was a really enjoyable day and we were really glad we had the chance to see the temple.
